The Beginning of a New Dream

The Astrology of February 2026: Saturn and Neptune in Aries

Saturn and Neptune leave behind the emotionally saturated waters of Pisces and begin a new, 36 year dream in the fiery, creative, and pioneering sign of Aries on February 20, 2026.

In essence, the new year does not truly begin until mid-February. Although January has been eventful and far less quiet than one might have expected, it has nevertheless felt, in many ways, like a period of closure. I also believe that despite highly visible world events, even more has been unfolding behind the scenes. Clarity around these hidden matters—or their emergence into public awareness—will not come out until April.

To make room for new things, we have been asked to let go of old patterns and attitudes. Nostalgia and grief for how things once were, (for better or for worse) have now run their course. Time has run out, and there is no return. While we have been given space to acclimate to a new era, many are struggling to accept a future that feels unfamiliar, largely because its direction is not yet clearly defined.

Many people currently feel lost, suspended between what is being left behind and what has not yet fully taken form. I have told many clients that direction will indeed reveal itself this year—but not through a sudden sign or singular event pointing the way. Instead, direction emerges by eliminating the paths we know we do not wish to take. But, if we fail to take inventory of the past, and set diplomatic but firm boundaries, our choice will be taken from us and we will eventually be run over. Gradually, direction becomes visible through what remains.

The fatigue so many are experiencing is symbolically reflected in Saturn and Neptune completing their journey through the watery sign of Pisces. Neptune entered Aries on January 26, 2026 (after fourteen years), and Saturn follows on February 14, 2026, after two and a half years in Pisces. Saturn and Neptune meet in Aries on February 20, 2026, initiating a new 36-year vision—remarkably, at zero degrees. Astrologically speaking it is truly the beginning point, because Aries and zero degrees starts the zodiac. It is as though the past is reset and the odometer is returned to zero.

As I said regarding moving from the earth to air element in my previous post:

"One of the most significant societal shifts of our time is that Saturn and Jupiter—the societal planets that meet every 20 years—have moved their conjunctions from earth signs into air signs. This meeting is known as the Great Conjunction."

"Saturn and Neptune meet for the first time in 36 years in Aries—at the exceptionally symbolic zero degree. This marks the birth of a new 36-year dream and the dissolution of the old one. Zero degrees represent a reset: the clearing of accumulated momentum and assumptions.

This Saturn–Neptune reset asks us to release old ways of thinking and make space for something larger, bolder, and more visionary. Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, adds courage, initiative, and a pioneering spirit. This energy does not want to merely dream—it wants to act.

Neptune brings imagination; Saturn brings realism. At this meeting, illusions may dissolve even as a new dream is born. A dream cannot be created through realism alone—it also requires creative madness and the bravery to try something entirely new."

Just days earlier on February 17, we enter eclipse season with a solar eclipse in Aquarius—the first one in nineteen years. This is followed by a lunar eclipse in Virgo on March 3, 2026. Between these two events, major new beginnings and endings begin to unfold for many, especially Aquarius, Leos, Virgos, and Pisces.

March’s dominant theme will be Mercury retrograde in Pisces, bringing redos, rethinks, misunderstandings, delays, and confusion. Many new initiatives will falter during this period, particularly if launched without preparation. At the same time, the general slowdown and disarray offer us additional time to pause and grasp what is truly unfolding.

Thus, new beginnings and closures reach their peak between mid-February and mid-March. In April, a sequence of events begins that reveals how these new beginnings take shape in each individual’s life. Setting boundaries becomes a central theme, as Mars enters Aries on April 9, 2026, and meets Saturn and Neptune there for the first time in the sign it rules. Mars, the planet of energy and action, brings the spark that sets things in motion.

However, Saturn in Aries—a realm governed by Mars—is like pressing the accelerator and the brake at the same time, creating deep frustration. The next two years therefore demands exceptional discernment. The urge to react immediately is strong, yet overly aggressive action will not succeed. Saturn cannot be rushed. My advice, then, is to allow time to reveal people and situations. Let them show their cards before you respond. Until then, each of us must clearly define our personal boundaries for ourselves and to others. Direction becomes clear once we understand which paths we are unwilling to take.

April’s most significant development, however, is Uranus’s final entry into Gemini on April 26, 2026. At that point, all the outer planets have permanently shifted into new signs, symbolizing that a return to the old is no longer possible.
