The Astrology of May 2025: Hope Springs Eternal

This month, I'm doing something a little bit different. I am using one of my favorite card decks called The Power of Surrender by Judith Orloff, as it reminds us to surrender and cooperate with the universe rather than try to control it. I’ll start with a brief overview of May’s astrology and then go through each zodiac sign.

MAY 2025 ASTROLOGY OVERVIEW

In May 2025, we are mostly still recovering from the intense events (as promised in my previous blogs) of April—both socially and for many, also personally. Compared to the last two months, May will feel like fresh spring breeze.

Only the Full Moon in Scorpio on May 12 does bring an emotionally intense and stormy week, potentially full of surprises and challenges, due to the closeness of Uranus. Try to stay cool and collective.

However, the New Moon in Gemini on May 27 appears very favorable and kicks off the summer with lots of new hope—especially since soon after, Jupiter moves into Cancer on June 9. Jupiter thrives in Cancer, where it can act freely and brings luck and success to many for a whole year.

All in all, May looks a lot better than the last couple of months. Take a breather, as May and June look quite good, before the high intensity returns later in the summer and the fall.

Please find more detailed horoscopes below. And of course, the best way to get a fully personalized forecast is to contact me directly, and we can look together at how the planets affect your unique birth chart. You can reach me via the contact form on my website: Lunardakini.com.

I recommend to read both your sun and rising signs.

ARIES

Your May card: Surrender to Your Soul’s Path.

This card fits perfectly, because although a lot has already happened for Aries in the past couple of months, this month marks a new phase. Saturn moves into Aries on May 24th and stays for the next 2–3 years. Neptune is already in Aries, having arrived earlier this spring. Neptune brought you a new individual dream, and now Saturn asks: how will you make your dream a reality?

It's true that Saturn brings lessons, limitations, and restructuring. But also discipline, hard work and mastery. This card reflects the Neptune–Saturn combo, especially Saturn, which can't be controlled. The advise is to view restrictions and obstacles as your guides rather than something that needs to be overcome. You are well aware that you can be highly impulsive—Saturn helps to channel that impulse into concrete action. Therefore, try not to resist the limits Saturn is setting up for you; they’re actually guiding you onto your soul's true path.

TAURUS

Your May card: Surrender Fear.

Taurus had a particularly favorable new moon at the end of April that may now feel a bit overwhelming, but only due to the many fantastic new opportunities it brought—this card simply reflects those doubts. Saturn also moves into your 12th house (the house of subconscious fears) on May 24 for three years. In ancient astrology, this house was called the house of self undoing, because it’s where we’re often blind to things in ourselves. But remember: it just feels that way - these fears aren’t necessarily real whatsoever.

True, Neptune is now also in this house - making things even more foggy and vague. But now matter - this is a cleansing time. Although not fun, facing these vague, subconscious fears will absolutely make you stronger. You will do well, not despite of your fears, but because of them: you are ready to face them. You'll realize you're more than ready to succeed.

Also, in June, due to Jupiter's entrance to your 3rd house, a lovely change in your living situation is coming—connected to family, a move, or a new addition to the family.

GEMINI

Your May card: Surrender Frustration.

This card simply suggests that you're a bit overwhelmed—but not because things are bad, but because you have too much to do and not enough hours in the day! Jupiter has been in Gemini for nearly a year and stays for another month, until June 9. It has brought you many opportunities, perhaps too many to choose from. But even after Jupiter leaves, you reap the rewards as it moves to your money house (Gemini risings), bringing material abundance all year, until next summer.

Your frustration simply comes from not being able to do everything you want. Surrender that frustration, as the new moon in Gemini on May 27 is one of the best of the year—maximize it by using your best discernment. Think carefully about your deepest wishes, because now is the optimal time to consciously manifest what you truly want, especially while Jupiter is still in your sign.

CANCER

Your May card: Surrender to Complete Healing.

You deserve rest and healing—Mars finally left your sign and is past the retrograde point, after 6 intense months. To some, this brought a lot of unwanted changes and might have even felt like a full blown aggression towards your home life. But, if you were courageous and made changes you normally would not dare to make, you were surely rewarded. Mars is now in your second house (of money), so be cautious with spending or luxury indulgences. Still, some pampering is more than well deserved.

Saturn moves into your career house at the end of May for almost 3 years. This may bring limits or restructuring in your career, or public status and matters related to authority figures. If you work with this energy instead of against it, it will absolutely elevate you to the top. But it will require discipline and hard work - and bring mastery.

But the best news: Jupiter enters Cancer on June 9 and stays for a year, bringing plenty of luck and happiness! More on that next month.

LEO

Your May card: Surrender to Inner Peace.

Mars now now in your sign, and past the retrograde point, is bringing plenty of attention to you, in addition to possible conflict, and surely lots of activity. But as a Leo, you thrive in the spotlight. Just make sure to maintain inner balance amidst the busyness. You've been working hard to reach a new level of visibility and leadership—and now you have that opportunity. Use it wisely, while Uranus and Jupiter still support you. The attention might feel overwhelming, even though you do enjoy it. Know who you are at all times, and you shall succeed.

This favorable time won't last forever, so sow seeds now. Around the full moon in Scorpio (mid-May), you may face emotional conflict between career and home or family challenges. It won't be as dramatic as the past two months, though. Overall, May is excellent for Leos, and the new moon on May 27 is especially favorable for public appearances, teamwork, and networking.

VIRGO

Your May card: Surrender to Receiving Support and Love.

This is a celebration for rising Virgos—Saturn finally leaves your relationship house (7th house) on May 24. Many rising Virgos have faced relationship struggles over the past three years due to Saturn opposing your sign. Maybe you’ve even forgotten what healthy support feels like in a relationship. Now you can reflect: have you been sacrificing too much for others, or have your relationships grown stronger? Saturn now moves to the 8th house—focusing on financial and energetic cooperation with others. This may involve karmic debts (material or spiritual).

While challenges shift to a new area, relationships will noticeably ease. Congratulations, especially rising Virgos—you’ve passed your test.Jupiter moves into your 11th house (friends, social life, networking) this summer—making it a great time to go out and meet new, wonderful people. With Saturn out of the relationship zone and Jupiter giving your his extra blessings this summer, it’s time to join the human race again, and enjoy!

LIBRA

Your May card: Surrender to Silence.

Neptune has already entered your relationship house (7th house), and Saturn joins it on May 24 for 2–3 years. This combo may bring relationship challenges—especially for rising Libras. It is essential to know your boundaries now. Saturn and Neptune here suggest you may end up in partnerships where you're not treated fairly. Go inward, as the card suggests. Ask yourself how much you're willing to tolerate, and what lines can't be crossed.

Also, be careful who you let into your life now—Neptune can cloud your perception. Don’t make long-term commitments under its influence. Let time reveal who people really are. On the bright side, your career house looks excellent—Jupiter moves there on June 9, bringing a full year of success and luck. More on that next month.

SCORPIO

Your May card: Surrender to Non-Action.

This is a rather amusing card for Scorpios, who are not known for sitting around twiddling their thumbs. They’re usually always up to something. I interpret this card as suggesting that although work and career transitions and busyness continue—especially for rising Scorpios—the card advises against making hasty decisions. Let others bustle around you, and just observe how things turn out and keep your own counsel before making your own move.

Challenges in your home environment will ease up considerably this summer, but they won’t disappear entirely. That’s because Pluto is retrograding in your fourth house over the summer and will return in October.

On the other hand, since Jupiter moves into Cancer on June 9th for a whole year, the upcoming summer and the year until next summer will be an excellent time to travel and expand your mind with good friends or family. Jupiter in your ninth house is a very beneficial time for broadening your horizons through travel, family time, or meaningful studies. Relationships also got a favorable new beginning with last month’s new moon. The summer looks very promising.

SAGITTARIUS

Your May card Surrender the Habit of People-Pleasing.

This cards asks you to let go of the tendency to please others at the expense of your own needs. I interpret this card as reflecting that Saturn is finally leaving your fourth house—your home sector—and moving into your fifth house, which rules romance, children, and creativity. The good news is that Mars has finally exited your eighth house, which is another financial house, and indeed, Saturn will leave your home sector on May 24th. Issues related to home and money should ease significantly by the end of May, and doors should finally start to open.

Saturn in the house of romance might not be easy, but it's still much easier than it was in the house of home and family. You can finally proceed the way you want without running into the same constant limitations and unpleasant surprises coming out of nowhere. I know it has seemed like without bad luck your would have not had any luck at all. You can start to trust in your famous optimism again, little by little. Still, Saturn in the fifth house reminds you not to rely solely on luck—but it gives you the opportunity to master things and succeed well, provided you put in enough planning and effort.

Cooperation with others especially regarding finances will also become much easier from now on, because Jupiter is entering your eighth house on June 9th. Health matters should have also received a hopeful new beginning with last month’s new moon.

CAPRICORN

Your May card: Surrender to Play.

Playfulness is indeed something beneficial for Capricorns, because Saturn is moving into your fourth house—home and domestic environment—for the next three years, bringing its own limitations and challenges. Neptune in this house adds confusion and vagueness to these challenges. There is no need to worry, but also resisting is futile. Simply try to take it lightly. It's only life.

On the bright side, Jupiter has brought much improvement to your everyday routine and health issues. And Jupiter is also now moving into your seventh house—relationships—on June 9th, and will stay there for a whole year. This is a very lucky and favorable placement for Jupiter, where it brings happiness and success for a full year. This summer and the year leading into next summer are especially favorable for finding the relationship you desire or improving an existing one. This opportunity won’t repeat for another 12 years.

Being playful and open to meeting people in different social situations will bring helpful and positive people into your life.

AQUARIUS

Your May card: Surrender to Spirit â€”meaning, surrender to a higher power.

This is an interesting card for Aquarius, as it asks you to stop trying to control situations or people, and instead let the universe guide you. This might not be an easy task for Aquarius, who doesn’t care for situations where they’re not in control. But Pluto in your first house—your house of identity—reminds you that at least one-third of human life is beyond our control.

On the other hand, Pluto will go retrograde starting May 5th, which means that pressure from Pluto will ease until October. This summer is therefore an excellent time to relax and get used to trust the universe's guidance a bit more.

PISCES

Pisces May card: Surrender Your Desire to Control People.

This is an interesting card for Pisces, who are generally thought to be easygoing people that go with the flow. In fact, Pisces can also be quite dogmatic and principled, and not necessarily willing to compromise at all, on principles they strongly believe to be universal. But this card reminds Pisces that you might achieve your goals more easily through cooperation than by trying to convince others of your absolute truths.

Also, keep in mind that if you simply wait until the end of May, things will sort themselves a lot more easily. That’s because on May 24th Saturn will finally leave your first house—your house of identity— after three years, where it has challenged and matured you. Saturn now moves into your second house—of personal finances—where it asks you to get your personal financial matters in order over the next three years.

On the other hand, Jupiter will move into your fifth house—romance—at the beginning of June and brings a lot of luck and success in relationships, with children, and with creative projects. Jupiter brings good fortune in this area for a full year, until next summer.
