Impulse vs. Endurance: Surviving Saturn in Aries 2025-2028 for each sign

Saturn in Aries from May 25, 2025 to April 13, 2028

Saturn enters Aries between May 25 and August 31, 2025, and during this time, it will already give us clear signs of how it will manifest in our lives over the next three years, until April 13, 2028. (Saturn will retrograde back into Pisces from September 1, 2025, to February 14, 2026.)

In astrology, Saturn symbolizes the serious and stern teacher, compared to Jupiter, who is the cheerful, inspiring teacher. Most of us have experienced both types. We usually remember our Jupiter-type teachers fondly. But at the same time, we must admit that the Saturn-type teacher, who demanded a lot from us and rarely encouraged us, also helped us exceed limits we never thought we could overcome.

Since Saturn is the furthest planet that can still just barely be seen with the naked eye, it symbolized boundaries to ancient astrologers. As an archetype, Saturn represents limitations, maturity, endurance, discipline, long-term effort, and patience.

At its best, Saturn offers support to those who are willing to put in hard work and patience. It aids in long-term planning, research, studying, and becoming an expert in your field. Saturn is also famously known for eventually rewarding hard work and suffering.

Depending on the area of your life that Saturn moves into, you will need more patience and perseverance in that specific area in order to mature as a person. Saturn asks you to grow up and take more responsibility in that life domain. This might also involve the long-term maturation of matters and now the harvest—like retirement, for example. In this way, Saturn also releases us from long-term responsibilities and rewards us for good work.

Saturn was last in Aries during the years 1996–1999. You can reflect back on that period and consider whether you took on more responsibility then. Did you, for example, commit to a long-term relationship, buy a house, start studying, or have children? Matters that began then may now resurface, change, or come to completion.

However, Saturn does not behave naturally in the sign of Aries. Saturn prefers to move slowly and cautiously, while Mars—which rules Aries—acts quickly and impulsively. Aries is an impatient pioneer that wants above all to take action—preferably immediately—and tends to rebel against the restrictions Saturn imposes. Saturn in Aries, however, may slow down or complicate actions. Saturn demands precise, long-term plans before any action is taken. Aries, on the other hand, lacks the patience for this.

During this time, the greatest challenge for everyone is timing. Things may seem to happen either too fast or too slow. You may feel that you need to act quickly, but it's difficult to know when exactly. We will often have to react to unexpected and rapidly changing situations. This can easily lead to rebellion and hasty actions without time to consider the consequences. Alternatively, hesitating for too long can mean missing the chance to do anything useful before it's too late. Sometimes this also means being asked too much too soon—being forced to grow up fast or step into a role for which we’re not really ready. It’s a "learn to swim or drown" situation. It's good to be aware of this ahead of time.

Those who have Saturn in Aries in their natal chart (those born around 1967–1969 or 1996–1999) may feel a chronic sense of insecurity in the area of life where Saturn is placed. Saturn in Aries may make them feel like they constantly have to prove themselves or their abilities in some way. They may feel that no amount of precaution is ever enough. They might push themselves and others excessively hard, driven by a vague sense of inadequacy. They may struggle with knowing if, how, and when they can express negative emotions. However, they were ahead of their time and did their best to rebel against societal injustices, often under impossible circumstances. They may have had to grow up too fast.

This time, Saturn is also in close conjunction with Neptune for at least a year. Saturn and Neptune last met 36 years ago, in 1989. Reflect on whether something significant happened in your life around then. It's likely that you’ll experience something similar or thematically related either this year or next. Or something that began back then now reaches a conclusion or undergoes a permanent transformation. The major news back then were the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Tiananmen Square protests and the rise of the World Wide Web.

From a societal perspective, this time is typically marked by idealistic thinking about individual sacrifice for principles, and a rebellious spirit. In addition, at times we see glimpses of idealistic hope, even to the point of fanaticism. For example, some may even admire and desire war because they glorify the defense of their beliefs to the last breath. But due to Saturn’s influence, we occasionally see through Neptune’s fog and get a glimpse of the reality of war as shown by Saturn—and it is not pretty.

On the other hand, Saturn at its best can help us make a new Neptune dream a reality, as I discussed in my Neptune blog.

All we can do is try our best and become as comfortable as possible with the uncertainty of these times. It is hard to know what or who to trust, and how to time our actions. Perhaps this is precisely Saturn’s lesson. We are forced to turn inward and find our inner strength—our inner warrior.

We are living in a revolutionary time in many ways, and it may take years before we fully see the reality and understand how things will ultimately unfold. However, we always have control over how we respond to things. We can always begin to create an atmosphere of love and trust by first cultivating it within ourselves.

Even though Saturn and Neptune in Aries bring challenges, this time can also teach us a lot. Working with Saturn works best when we don’t try to overly control or resist the challenges it brings. We all come into this world alone and leave it alone. One of Saturn’s greatest gifts is the lesson of how to be okay on our own, and how to manage with what we already have.

Saturn also holds the mystery of being the gatekeeper between life and death, as it rules over endings and mortality. No one escapes Saturn forever. That’s why it’s good to become familiar with Saturn’s great mystery. It teaches us resilience and to rejoice and appreciate even the small things, which are often free. Part of Saturn’s teaching is to show how little we actually need—and how we can, paradoxically, understand and appreciate the miracle of life precisely because it is not permanent.

Finally, I want to remind you that Jupiter is also moving into Cancer on June 9th, where it will stay for a year—and this brings us a lot of support and comfort!

The year 2026 is also astrologically very promising. Although the next couple of years will have their share of challenges, a very unique astrological aspect will also bring us many good, encouraging, and hopeful things. More on that later.

SATURN IN EACH SIGN 2025–2028

Please read both your Sun sign and your Rising sign (if known).

ARIES – Saturn in the 1st House

Saturn in your first house, the house of identity, means you are either facing a completely new identity challenge or receiving a reward related to your public role or even your body. Especially if you’ve put in the work over many years and are now confident in yourself and your abilities, you may enjoy a reward brought by Saturn—such as a new job, a public role, or recognition that reflects your maturity and skills. However, if you're only now beginning a new life phase and are ready to work hard for it, the reward will come in about three years. Sometimes, this transit also brings chronic health issues that are more exhausting than serious.

TAURUS – Saturn in the 12th House

Saturn in the 12th house may bring hidden issues—psychological or tangible—into the light. A major challenge, especially for Taurus, is learning to be okay on your own, without constant approval from others. This doesn’t mean you’ll be lonely all the time, but you'll face situations where you must choose a path less-traveled. This is an excellent time to begin a regular meditation or reflective hobby. It helps process subconscious issues that are now ready to surface and be dealt with.

GEMINI – Saturn in the 11th House

The good news is Saturn is finally leaving your career house after almost three years. If you've worked hard, Saturn may reward you this year or next. Now Saturn enters your house of friends and networks—a lot less challenging than the career house, but still demanding. You’ll need to accept that you can’t be an expert in every area of life, nor can your influence reach everyone. You simply can’t please everyone, and not all will keep up with your fast-thinking style. Saturn’s message: trim away friends and networks that drain your energy.

CANCER – Saturn in the 10th House

Saturn enters your house of career, public life, and visibility. You may be given more responsibility—or even power—at work. Perhaps you’re offered a new, more public role. If you’ve invested in your career, Saturn may reward you with a new job or public acknowledgment. Retirement may also be a form of Saturn’s reward, if you are ready to retire. If you're just starting your career, you'll need to prove your skills and abilities through hard work.

LEO – Saturn in the 9th House

Saturn in your 9th house is a great time to engage in study or anything that broadens your mind. This is a period of learning about your own principles and life philosophy. You may meet a teacher or expert who leaves a deep and lasting impression—or become one yourself, sharing knowledge gathered over many years. However, there may also be challenges involving mentors or stepping into a teaching role yourself, which may not feel natural. You'll be encouraged to truly understand your personal ideology, take full responsibility for it, and find your identity through it.

VIRGO – Saturn in the 8th House

First, the good news: Saturn has finally left your relationship house! The pressure of the last three years has been intense. Now Saturn moves into the 8th house, the house of karmic debts—either spiritual or financial. But it is still not as intense as the 7th house was. This house also relates to letting go of things you’re finally ready to release. Matters involving shared financeslike a partner’s income, divorce, inheritance, or shared property—may arise. Justice and fair rebalancing are key themes. Relationships will begin to improve slowly. The North Node in your relationship house may even bring new connections. But note: Saturn returns briefly (Sept 1, 2025–Feb 14, 2026) to wrap up old relationship matters—it won’t block new ones.

LIBRA – Saturn in the 7th House

Saturn entering your opposite sign’s house—the house of relationships—will test your partnerships. Saturn may bring a long-term relationship, strengthen an existing one, or end it altogether. This isn’t easy for Libra, who values harmony and diplomacy—skills that may not be enough now. Challenges may also simply happened to your partner that affect you, or the relationship may go through a hard period. At best, Saturn can represent commitment—marriage, children, or buying a home together are possible outcomes.

SCORPIO – Saturn in the 6th House

Work—or a big, personal goal—now demands more effort and sacrifice than expected. It’s crucial to prioritize your health. With Saturn in the 6th house, overwork is likely—especially if you have natal Saturn in Aries (born 1967–1969 or 1996–1999). People with Saturn in Aries often push their mind and body too far. You may feel duty-bound to go full speed, but your health should come first. If you create a routine that includes rest, your body can keep up. In a few years, Saturn will reward your discipline and work well-done.

SAGITTARIUS – Saturn in the 5th House

Saturn now enters the house of joy: creativity, romance, and children. But since Saturn is a challenging planet and in fiery Aries, it demands hard work and commitment. You may begin to reevaluate what or who brings you joy. Fancy dinners and social events may start to feel empty, while something as simple as a walk at sunrise may gain new meaning. Joy will come from subtler, less obvious placessigns of your soul’s growth and maturity. A new romance, deepening of an existing one, or even expanding your family is also possible.

CAPRICORN – Saturn in the 4th House

Saturn in the house of home, family, and privacy can bring challenges in those areas. A major change in your private life—such as a renovation or move—may become visible even in your public life. There may be tension between work and home, with home matters consuming your energy. This could involve aging parents and related responsibilities. It’s important to care for your health during this time.

AQUARIUS – Saturn in the 3rd House

Saturn in the 3rd house brings changes in communication—this includes social media. You may want more professional visibility and invest in new skills and technology. This transit could also concern siblings or sibling-like relationships. Old group dynamics or feelings of being an outsider may resurface—especially with Pluto in your identity house. How do you stand or not stand out? You may also face changes in your local environment—even a move.

PISCES – Saturn in the 2nd House

Saturn moves into your house of money. In Aries, it usually means hard work over the next few years, depending on your birth chart. You might learn a new skill or take on routine work to support your dream job. Saturn challenges you to be resourceful, save more, and get by with a bit less. Remember: Saturn rewards well-done work and sacrifice. In a few years, you may receive a tangible reward for your efforts, newly learned skills, and well-organized finances.
