You've gotta have Faith: Jupiter in Cancer

Updated: Jun 13

Jupiter in Cancer from June 9, 2025 to June 30, 2026

Jupiter entered the sign of Cancer on June 9, 2025, and stays there for a year, bringing blessings to almost everyone.

First, however, we must get through this week, which is unusually volatile. The Full Moon in Sagittarius on Wednesday, June 11—which is ruled by Jupiter—forms a tense square with Saturn and Neptune. Since Jupiter has just moved into Cancer, it is particularly emotional and now fully empowered to defend its home and "tribe," even under pressure from Saturn. Emotions are likely to spill over, and the intensity peaks with an explosive Mars-Uranus square over the weekend, June 12–16, extending well into next week. This is not the week to start anything new or bring up sensitive issues—wait until emotions settle down next week. However, if your intention is to end something for good, then this IS a good week to do it...

Jupiter in Cancer-A Blessing for Home and Family

The archetype of Jupiter is that of a good and wise teacher. Other words to describe Jupiter include open-mindedness and generosity. Our planet earth is even physically under Jupiter's "protection," as its massive size helps shield our planet by diverting large meteors and other celestial objects from reaching earth’s surface.

Jupiter as an archetype is something like Santa Claus—meaning a kind-hearted, and cheerful teacher who, especially in Cancer, brings luck and success related particularly to family and home.

In Cancer, Jupiter is able to operate well and is at its best. The Moon rules the sign of Cancer. Together, the Moon and Jupiter want to increase happiness related to home and family. The Moon in Cancer is emotional, protective and wants to take care of loved ones and enjoys the security that family brings – Jupiter helps to expand these desires both symbolically and literally. So this summer, lasting until summer 2026, is a truly fertile time if you're considering starting a family, or finding and moving into a new home.

Jupiter also governs philosophy, spirituality, religion, higher education, foreign countries, and long journeys—in other words, all things idealistic and mind-expanding. In one word, Jupiter governs our faith.

In the sign of Cancer, these areas of life gain an added dimension—especially in matters related to emotions, nostalgia, history, and ancestors. For Cancer in particular, it often feels as though everything was better in the past.

The negative side of Jupiter is the tendency to go too far. Excessive abundance and celebration may lead to overindulgence in food and drink, and possibly even illness. Jupiter amplifies everything, and sometimes it may unintentionally magnify unpleasant things. The signs ruled by Jupiter—Pisces and Sagittarius—can also be surprisingly dogmatic or overly principled. These signs may hold a very firm belief (faith) in what is right and wrong, and may not be willing to compromise on their worldview, as they believe it to be the one and only truth.

Due to its strong idealism, when in Cancer, Jupiter increases the sense of home and especially the sense of a "tribe." We become very aware of who is with us and who is not. Jupiter wants to protect its own, even to the extreme if necessary—whether they ask for that protection or not. In global politics, this is already evident in an increased desire to defend one’s own territory only, rather than cooperate.

However, generally speaking, Jupiter always wants to help, improve, and develop things in a positive and optimistic direction for everyone’s benefit. That’s why it is comforting to have Jupiter in Cancer, where it can support us during these major transformations the world is undergoing, especially this year.

It should also be mentioned that since Jupiter often brings abundance and luck, we may sometimes forget that it is not necessarily luck we have earned ourselves, but simply a matter of being in the right place, at the right time. If we are fortunate enough to receive Jupiter’s blessings, it is wise to always remember to share the gifts and good fortune given by Jupiter with others, so that we won’t have to pay karmic debts of selfishness later on. In doing so, we also fulfill Jupiter’s will, which is generous and kind-hearted.

As I wrote in my first blog post of the year about astrology in 2025, we rarely see this many changes within a single year. This is because almost all planets have either changed or are in the process of changing signs. It symbolizes a time when we experience particularly dramatic societal and personal upheavals and turning points, as we’ve already begun to witness.

Jupiter is in Cancer every 12 years, so a handy way to predict how this transit might affect your life is to look back at what happened from summer 2013 to summer 2014. Something similar might happen again this year.

At the same time as Jupiter brings good fortune to most, it's also important to remember that Saturn forms a square—bringing challenges to everyone’s Cancer house throughout most of the year. You can read more about that in my Saturn blog.

Jupiter in Cancer for each sign

Read both your Sun and Rising sign (if known)

ARIES – Jupiter in the 4th house

Jupiter in your 4th house of home and surroundings suggests a possible move, home renovations, or family growth in the coming year. Family and home bring happiness and success, along with all things that expand your mind, like travel, foreign countries, or learning new skills. Idealistic and enjoyable learning via education or travel now brings deep meaning and positivity to life, lasting for years to come.

TAURUS – Jupiter in the 3rd house

A great year for all kinds of communication. If you’ve thought of starting a podcast, website, or your own business—this is your year. If you're in the arts, now’s the time to go public and network. Don’t underestimate your local environment—you may meet surprisingly positive acquaintances just around the corner. Short trips, especially with siblings, or people that are like siblings to you, bring joy and results. Jupiter also rules your 8th house—potential inheritance is possible.

GEMINI – Jupiter in the 2nd house

This is your lucky year! Jupiter in your money house in Cancer is a true stroke of luck and won’t happen again for 12 years. Chronic financial issues may be resolved during this Jupiter year. It’s a great time to ask for a raise. Your career, public image, and relationship houses also look promising since Jupiter rules them. Saturn, however, may distance you from social groups or friendships that no longer serve your life—good, because you’re ready for a new, happy chapter.

CANCER – Jupiter in the 1st house

Jupiter in the house of identity and body brings luck and success, especially for your personal brand. However, be cautious not to go overboard with celebrations, especially with food. Mentally, you’ll begin to feel more hopeful and positive than you have in a long time, especially by July. Your personal life philosophy becomes clearer, and you're more selective about where and with whom you invest your energy.

LEO – Jupiter in the 12th house

Jupiter may bring old fears and insecurities to the surface—but only to heal them. Luck this year comes from unexpected places. You might even feel a need to retreat from the spotlight, which is rare for you. If you resist this and push forward anyway, it may backfire. Recharging your spiritual batteries is essential. Changes in public image or status may not have brought the kind of satisfaction you expected. Jupiter now helps you find your wisdom and creativity—but only through deep self-reflection of your identity and values.

VIRGO – Jupiter in the 11th house

A fantastic Jupiter year for new and old friends and exciting new networks. Now that Saturn has finally left your relationship house, this is a great time for a new relationship, likely to emerge from your own network. All social interaction and travel are especially recommended and lucky. Jupiter also rules your home—things at home improve significantly now, possibly thanks to your networks or a new relationship offering support, encouragement, and new opportunities.

LIBRA – Jupiter in the 10th house

Your career house looks amazing—you may get a new job or your public role may expand in a deeply meaningful way. Great new opportunities and support await you. Take advantage of them—you won’t get this chance again for another 12 years. Job opportunities come easier now than in many years. If you've thought about entrepreneurship, now is the time to showcase your skills publicly. Job market struggles don’t apply to you—you’ll have plenty of work. Just watch out for overindulgence, which may affect your health if not kept in balance.

SCORPIO – Jupiter in the 9th house

Jupiter rules your money house, as well as spiritual pursuits, travel, studies, and creative projects. Therefore, it is more than likely that they may now also start to bring in income. At the very least, your life philosophy expands and deepens, bringing a whole new beginning, meaning and purpose to your life. However, Saturn in your 6th house signals an unusually heavy workload and a sense of constant, daily push—beware, as this could affect your health. Now more than ever is a good time to find a balance between work and rest.

SAGITTARIUS – Jupiter in the 8th house

Partnerships, your partner’s money, promotions, and investments bring luck and success. Matters concerning elder relatives passing away and inheritance may arise this year. Everything related to home, family, and ancestry begins to resolve—possibly a move or renovation. But it’s better to keep things private until they are fully sorted. The 8th house is mysterious and karmic—debts owed by or to others come into focus. Jupiter has come to collect or to bring something you are owed.

CAPRICORN – Jupiter in the 7th house

Jupiter in your relationship house brings luck in relationships and even possible family growth. For single Capricorns, this is one of the best years to find “the one.” It won’t happen again for 12 years, so attend all the local events and try new hobbies—that’s where love can be found. This relationship may be especially healing, especially if you avoid sabotaging it by prioritizing work over people. If you're already in a committed relationship, Jupiter now deepens and improves it. It’s also an excellent year for having children.

AQUARIUS – Jupiter in the 6th house

Jupiter in your house of work is a dream for Aquarius—it brings exciting new networks and meaningful work, with promises of increased income. Sounds great! But this may also lead to burnout if you don’t set firmer boundaries between work and personal time. Work is still work, even if it's something you love to do. At the same time, Pluto in your 1st house is revolutionizing your sense of identity. Still, your networks and new friends help and support your transformation.

PISCES – Jupiter in the 5th house

Creative projects connected to your identity or personal brand now bring success—and above all, satisfaction and joy in ways you haven’t felt for a long time. Saturn has finally moved on from your house of identity, so your creativity and hard work are now visible to all and admired, bringing a deeply satisfying feeling. Children (or grandchildren) also bring great joy and build your sense of identity. This will be one of the most fulfilling and fun years in a long time—enjoy it!
